Help|AdventuringHere are some unique considerations while adventuring in the Carrion Fields:
Aging and Lifespans Age has now been implemented on Carrion Fields. Each race has a lifespan in which to enjoy lives upon this world. As you age, certain stats will be affected such as strength, wisdom, and intelligence. Specifics will not be give on lifespans other than that Elves are known to live the longest and Arials the shortest. All of the other races fall in between. The class you choose will have an effect on your lifespan. Just like RL, you never know when you are going to go, so live your life to the fullest. Death, Reincarnation and Corpses When your character dies, you are reincarnated back at the recall point for your hometown. Your corpse is left behind in the room where you were killed, together with all of your equipment and gold. The reincarnation process is not perfect, so every three times you die, you will lose one constitution point, a loss of vitality. You can regain this lost point by either spending a training session on it or asking an immortal to run a vitality quest for you. When your natural (unmodified by items or spells) constitution falls down to 3, you will die permanently. You'll know to start worrying when you hear the banshee's wailing. Any spells which were affecting you are canceled by death. Following and groups are not affected by death. You have to gain back 15% of your total experience when you die, in order to reach your next level. You want to try to stay alive! Corpses decay after time, and the objects inside corpses decay with them. Player corpses last *roughly* 30 hours of game time not including any lag (15 minutes of real time). Keep in mind that anyone can loot anyone else's corpse. When you die, you become an untouchable (as long as you don't initiate any attacks) ghost for a few minutes. Use this time to get back to your corpse! Player Killing Player killing on Carrion Fields is totally permitted. In fact, it is encouraged, and since some fine objects have a finite number, you will have to kill other players to get them. You can playerkill after you have 10,000 experience points. People you can pk are shown by a (pk) flag in front of their names on the who and where lists. These people are anyone within 30% of your experience (or if you are within 30% of theirs) so your pk range, for a player with 100,000 xp works out to: 70,000 to 143,000 xp. Group killing is allowed -- any size group may kill any other size group. Expect to be PK'ed, and don't take it too personally. Remember, there's safety in numbers. Remember to roleplay, not just kill anyone. Do not drop link to avoid getting pked. This is a sure-fire way to get yourself killed, not by the attacker but by the immortals. Experience and Leveling Your character advances in power by gaining experience. The experience needed to gain a level is your exp. per level at level 1 + 20% for each level. Therefore, a human warrior (1500 exp per level at level 1) would need 3000 exp. points to get from level 6 to level 7.
There is a big exp bonus for groups of 3 and a small one for groups of 2. |
