The Sylvan Warders were a group of wilderness protectors that strove to defend the wildlands from the encroachment of civilization and those they called "Defilers". They viewed themselves as a pack of wolves, bound by a sort of brotherhood and honor as they united together in order to serve the cause of nature. Ultimately, their task failed, the boots of Spiremen and Imperial soldiers trampling their sacred Grove and setting it ablaze in a furious inferno. The "wolves" known as the Sylvan Warders scattered, injured and powerless to the blows that had been struck. A few fought on as lone wolves until their dying days, and the Warders slipped into obscurity.
