Nothing sure is known about the creation and destruction of the Shadow cabal. It is believed that the Church of Shadows was founded by the dead god Derit in the First Age, but no history remains of its origins, of the enlistment of Nightwalkers and Darkfriends, or why the church was apparently destroyed by the Father of Devils, Scarabaeus. The Torch of Shadows snuffed out, only the empty husk of the Church remains.
